Ending the Year With Few Hats

This is probably the last post of the year and decade. I decided to make a post with the hats I bought over the last few months.

Discussion Question: Would You Pay $500 For A Cap?

If you read this blog, you know that I own a lot of New Era caps. They're the producers of the on field caps for Major League Baseball. I think they make quality products.

More Angels Merchandise

Small Mike Zagurski update: he has an infinite ERA with the Brewers. He didn't have a good outing in his first appearance and he's still with team. Also, the Brewers and every team in MLB is wearing their patriotic jerseys, which means I know which jersey I'm going to get next.

On to the main event...

Padres Duffle Bag

The layout of the Ross near me has luggage and bags near the active wear. I of course visit the active wear and hat sections every time I go. While on a recent visit they had these hanging and I had to get one:

Padres Hat

Hello everyone. I know I haven't posted on here in awhile. I do have things to post and I'll have a couple things to post next week. Anyway, I have another Padres hat to post on here:

Erie Seawolves Hat

A couple of months ago, I bought an Erie Seawolves jersey. I wanted a hat to go with it but they were $35 because that's what New Era sells them at.

Padres All Star Cap

You know how I bought a jersey with a player who didn't play on the team; I thought why not get a matching cap to go with it. (I've worn the jersey several times now and it doesn't bother me.)

Padres Sunday Cap

Every Sunday home game, the Padres honor a branch of the military and first responders. I bought an alternate green jersey during last year's FanFest, which they used to wear on Sundays during previous season.  I didn't buy a matching cap for it. This year they weren't on sale. I went to Ross a couple of days ago:

A Tale of a Cap

Less than decade ago, there was a chain of sporting good stores in Southern California called Chick's Sporting Goods. They sold variety of things in their stores: fishing equipment, hunting equipment, treadmills, licensed merchandise, and other recreational items. Every fall they would have a large tent sale where they would clear out a bunch of items.

Diamond Era Caps Series

I have a backlog to post on here. Ross has been receiving last seasons Diamond Era Cap and I've been buying them. I almost have the entire set.

I previously bought Yankees and Pirates caps.

I Only Bought It Because I Have a Jersey

Greetings readers. Before Christmas, I went into Ross and found this hat:

I own two Yankees jerseys but for whatever reason buy that makes me feel odd. Maybe because a lot of celebrities that I don't like wore Yankee hats. I bought it cause of my Mike Zagurski Batting Practice Jersey. This isn't a batting practice cap. It is a New York Yankees MLB Diamond Era 59FIFTY Cap. I like the Diamond Era Caps because they are slightly different than the official on field caps.

I paid $9 for a cap that retailed for $35. It can be bought online for $20.

That's a Good Looking Pirate

I went to Ross last week and went to hats section again. I like that I can find so many different teams on different weeks. I'm also fortunate that they fit my head.

Any who, I found this hat and shelf and I bought it because of the mustard yellow color and the logo on it.

IronPigs Knitted Hat

I do love knitted hats and I had to get one to match the jersey I bought, I bought this IronPigs New Era Knitted Cap on Black Friday for $22 including shipping. I don't see much minor league merchandise where I shop, so I purchased it off the IronPigs website.

Even though it's one size fits all, it's a bit tight on my head.

Also, December 8th was the 1 year anniversary of starting this blog. I have over 1,400 hits and I never could have imagined it. This year went by fast. Thanks for your continued support.

Dodgers' Hat

Just a small post today. I bought this Dodgers' hat at Ross a couple of weeks ago. It's a Los Angeles Dodgers MLB Diamond Era cap. I paid $10 and it retailed for $35. New Era has them on clearance for $20 online. I like how the blue outline makes the LA logo pop out. Most of the Diamond Era caps are good looking and are only tad different than the official on field caps.

Cincinnati Reds Cap

I love mascots.
Look at this again:
I should put that out during Halloween.
The Philly Phanatic is my favorite MLB mascot because of how he looks and his mannerisms. Mr. Met is my second favorite. Ah what does that have to do with the title of the post...

Oakland A's Cap

I bought this Oakland A's Team Classic 39THIRTY Cap today at Ross. It was $10 and it normally retails for $30. It will go great with the jersey I bought awhile back.

Chargers On Field Cap...Going Out of Business....All Star Voting

Last week I bought this cap at Burlington Coat Factory for $10. The retail value of it is $35, so this was a great find. I like how the Bolts' logo pops out of the cap.

Sports Chalet and many Sports Authority stores are going out of business. The Consumerist has an article about it.  I have been to Sports Authority (SA) on a few occasions and as consumer I felt like their stores very outdated and that their prices weren't competitive with Dick's Sporting Goods. Most of the time I went to SA, there was hardly anyone there. Aisles were vacant of staff and customers. I believe most consumers would rather shop in a big box store or a store tailored towards their sport.

On a lighter note MLB All Star Game voting has opened up. It's been less than one month into the season and it's voting time. The jerseys for it are pretty sweet and I'll break my rule and buy one that isn't on sale.

The Day Before FanFest

Since Friday and Saturday are the Padres FanFest days, I wanted to post more Padres items on the blog. This has been a good exercise for me because I didn't realize how much Padres merchandise I have. Next week I'll try to focus on the NHL.

This is the first Padres jersey I purchased. It's a Majestic Athletic Padres Away Batting Practice jersey. I bought it about two years ago for less than forty dollars at Ross.

Since I have the jersey, I may as well have a matching cap to go with it. This is a Padres Batting Practice cap that I bought from Ross a few years ago for less than twenty dollars.

This is a Padres New Era cap from the All Star Game in Minnesota. I found it at Ross and paid less than twenty dollars for it. It's interesting how the SD logo has red outline to it.

This is a Snapback Adjustable Hat that I bought on clearance few years ago on MLB.com. I like how San Diego pops out on one side and the Swinging Friar is prominent on the other side.

This is a Kyle Blanks Player Shirt I bought at the Petco Park on clearance for twenty dollars last season. I bought it because in MLB: The Show 2014, he would be the only player in Road to the Show to hit home tuns off me consistently.

One more thing before I go, Mitchell & Ness, the company that produces all the great throwback jerseys and merchandise, produced a map of each states top selling jerseys. The most surprising thing about it is that
Muggsy Bogues has the top selling jersey in Wyoming.

Lucky Find

Awhile ago I wrote about the St. Patrick's Day jersey I got at Dodgers Fan Fest. A couple of days ago I found a matching hat for it. I went to Ross again, looking for nothing in particular, I found this:
