Sean Hill Blues Jersey or How I Did My eBay Negotiation

Around Mother's Day this year, one of the sellers that I shop for jerseys, put up for sale a Sean Hill St. Louis Blues Game Used Jersey. The reason I know of him is that he was on the Mighty Ducks inaugural team and scored the first goal in team history. He ended up playing on few more teams and one of them was the Blues. I wanted a Blues jersey too.

NHL Auctions

I haven't written anything in months. Google changed the interface while I was hiatus.

Hello everyone. I hope you're doing well. I'm alright but I miss going to Ross and Burlington Coat Factory. I believe they are open in my area but I'm not making unnecessary trips at this time.

The NHL playoffs are going on right now. I visited NHL.com and found this:

Link here

There's a mix of authentic and premier jerseys for sale. It isn't an auction. Everything listed is buy now.

I bought a jersey and I'll be receiving it during the middle of a heat wave. I'll write another post when it arrives.

Philadephia Flyers Day

I have a big collection of NHL jerseys and shirts. My baseball collection in recent years has outgrown it. With the purchase of recent shirt, I want to post my Philadelphia Flyers merchandise.

Let's Go Kings (NHL Opening Day)

I'm a Ducks fan but I do have a few Kings jerseys. I never know if I'll get Kings tickets, so it's good to have one in the closet if a game comes up.

In JC Penney a long time ago, I found a Jason Allison replica jersey on clearance. I think I paid $32 for it. The Mitchel & Ness hat I bought at Burlington Coat Factory for $13. It retailed for $30.

Twenty Hits From Thousand

I just checked today and I'll have 1,000 hits soon. I can't believe it. It's so good to have so many hits and I haven't spent a dime, except for jerseys, shirts, and hats. Thanks for reading and please share if you find anything here informative. This blog would have more hits if it had Pokemon on it. :)

A few quick things to cover:

Sports Authority stores are closing faster than expected. People went out and bought things for MSRP and lower price. It's still sad that many people are losing their jobs.

MeiGray is a seller of game used equipment and they are having a Summer Sale. They have lots of ECHL and NHL jerseys. Click the link and it outlines what's for sale.

Father's Day - Anaheim Ducks Sale Part Two

My dad took me to my first Ducks' game about 13 years ago. Even before we went to the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, he would watch the games on KCAL 9.

Stanley Cup Finals

Today is Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the San Jose Sharks and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins are coming into San Jose with a two game lead in the series. I own merchandise from both teams.

This is a Pittsburgh Penguins CCM practice jersey with their old logo from the late 1990's to the early 2000's. Many Penguins' fans don't like the triangle logo but I like its modern look. This was purchased at HockeyGiant many years back.

Los Angeles Dodgers and Kings

I went to Ross yesterday and found this New Era Dodgers Cap.
It was $10 and it originally retailed $25. I couldn't find on sale at all on New Era's or MLB's  online stores. It goes great with my Dodger road jersey.

Today I went to Burlington Coat Factory and found this shirt on clearance for $8. It was priced $14 at Burlington but I can't find what it originally retailed for.
It says Dodgers on it. I just couldn't get it to stay straight.

Anaheim Ducks Team Store Sale

The Anaheim Ducks had their Team Store sale on Saturday. They have this annually after the season ends. This was the second one I've ever been to.

Mother's Day - Anaheim Ducks Sale

I don't have much to write about. I missed the Angels' Sale during Fiesta Angels. They had it on the Saturday before Mother's Day again. I guess this will be the tradition going forward.

If you go to auctions.mlb.com, you can buy the gear that the players were wearing for Mother's Day. So far only the Orioles have their Mother's Day jerseys on there.

The Anaheim Ducks will be having their sale on Saturday. Information is here

A Look Back at the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim

At the end of the 2001-2002 NHL season, I went to my first Mighty Ducks of Anaheim game. I had a great time at that game even though they lost. A few seasons later, after an ownership change and a re-branding to the Anaheim Ducks, the team won its first Stanley Cup. This post is about my first years as a fan.

This is the first Ducks shirt I ever owned. It was bought at the Ducks' Team Store for $50. It's a bit pricey but it's made out of a thick fabric and the logo or the material hasn't worn out from all the times it has been washed.

This is a replica road jersey made by CCM. Before the great NHL lockout of 2004-2005, color jerseys were the road jerseys and white was worn at home. After the lockout, the NHL mandated that color jerseys were home and away teams wore white. Most teams before and after the lockout had color alternate jerseys, which meant traveling with extra jerseys and matching equipment on road trips. The switch meant teams only had to carry one set of jerseys on the road.

On occasion, some teams will switch for certain games and wear their white jerseys at home.

I bought this during the 2001-2002 off season. I bought it at Sports Authority and I think I spent about $50 for it.

I bought this replica home jersey at the team store during the 2002-2003 Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Wild. I think I spent over $200 on it. (Team stores are usually really expensive and I don't advise buying during games. Wait till there's a sale or if you're lucky, Ross, Burlington Coat Factory, etc. might have it.)

Jean-Sebastien Giguere was the goalie who carried the Ducks all the to the Stanley Cup Finals. They ended up losing to the New Jersey Devils in a close seven game series. He would end up winning the Cup several years later with the Ducks. He was one of my favorite players on the Ducks. Ironically, I don't have his signature on it. I can't remember most of the players who signed it except for Guy Hebert and Teemu Selanne.

Three last things:

Paul Lukas who writes on Uni-Watch.com wrote an article about a Royals fan who attended Opening Day and purchased a one of a kind find. The story is on ESPN.com.

ESPN has the oral history of New Jersey Swamp Dragons. The team president of New Jersey Nets wanted to change the name and everything about the branding of the team. It was very close to happening.

MLB sent out an e-mail telling me that their auction site had Opening Day mementos up for auction. I checked what the Padres had for sale and they are selling game used baseballs from last season. I purchased a couple of them. When they come I'll post about them.

Let's Go Ducks

A few months before I started this blog, I went to Burlington Coat Factory to browse through the active wear. I spotted this and I couldn't believe it.

This is an Anaheim Ducks' replica Bobby Ryan jersey. Ryan was drafted after Sidney Crosby in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Ottawa Senators a few seasons ago.

The Ducks don't wear this jersey anymore. They changed styles and wear home and away jerseys with a webbed foot shaped like a D. I paid forty dollars for this jersey and this was a great deal considering NHL jerseys are expensive. It's rare that I find NHL jerseys at Ross, Marshalls, or Burlington.

In the upcoming weeks, I'll post more of my NHL collection.
