I'm
declaring August 2nd Shirsey Day. Since everything has a day except for
shirseys, it deserves one. If you're not exactly sure what one is, Urban
Dictionary has the definition:
one
of those T-shirts that looks like a jersey. shirt and jersey combined.
I
don't own a lot of them but I've started to accumulate them.
Let's
begin.
Blake
Griffin was one of my favorite Clippers and when he was traded, I thought I
could snag a jersey with his name on it. Burlington had those jerseys with the
iron numbers and I don't like those. I got a shirsey instead and it looks
pretty sharp.
Apologies
for the winkles because I put it down in my closet in a corner and forgot about
it for a couple of months. I paid $6 for a shirsey that originally was $32.
While
the Dodgers were making their run to the World Series last year, Burlington had
many Dodgers shirseys on sale. They had Belinger, Puig, Turner, and this one:
Yu
Darvish was traded from the Texas Rangers to the Dodgers for their playoff
push. He pitched in Game 7 of the 2017 World Series and it didn't go so well.
The Dodgers didn't resign him during the off season and he signed with the
Cubs. Currently he's on the DL and A-Rod doesn't approve of the way he's rehabbing.
Anyway,
it took many months for this shirsey to go on clearance. I paid $9 for a shirsey
that Burlington was selling for $17. This goes for $18 on MLB.com
Let's
see we covered basketball and baseball; football is next.
Teddy
Bridgewater played for the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons. In what would
have been his third season, he suffered a gruesome knee injury that was so
serious he almost lost his leg. He was able to recover and play the following
season for the Vikings. Currently he's on the New York Jets. I like the shirsey
more than the preceding ones because it looks like a jersey. The material on it
is very nice. I paid $5 at Ross for this and I can't find the original price
online but I'm sure it was at least $30.
